First of all, wow. Thank you so much for your incredible enthusiasm everyone! We're going to do our best to make it all worth it.

Now, we're not quite open yet, but the speed at which things have started to move means we're releasing this journal a little early in order to clarify, amend and highlight a couple points so that we can all move forward on the same page.

To do with app-making:

At present, in the world of the Auroris, it is about twenty minutes since the explosion. What people know so far about the incident is

something went bam in the lower levels
everything below the top level of the Atrium is in VERY bad shape
they are being told to stay in the top level of the Atrium

You trainer must have been on the top level of the Atrium or above at the time of explosion, and will have had zero contact with those below since. Maybe they were sleeping in, or on lunch break, or nipped up for something they forgot - as long as they're there, it's fine.
Your trainer can only have had 1 pokemon on hand (meaning out of the PC; it's up to you if they were in their ball or not) at the time of the explosion, OR, if they had none to hand at the time, may have acquired 1 pokemon in the minutes of the aftermath. That pokemon would be included on their app with those details in their backstory. In total, your trainer may have 1 pokemon available to them at the present time. You do not have to mention which it is in your app.

The evolution restriction is as follows: one evolution per team. It does not matter whether this takes a pokemon to a final or intermediate stage, if that evolution requires a trade or item or how many pokemon you have in total. Only one pokemon may be evolved, and only once. We shouldn't see any third-stagers at all.
We have raised the minimum character age to 17. Characters can have chosen their faction before this age, but must be 17 at the beginning of the OCT. Minor characters under the age of 17 may be included on a parent/sibling/guardian's app and do not presently count toward the 3 character limit. Please don't abuse this.
Guards only wear their uniform of black, grey and an orange armband with the faction symbol on it, when on patrols. Whether they were on patrol during the explosion, and thus wearing that, is up to you. When not on patrol, they need not carry any weapon at all.

To do with the other stuff:

We're thrilled that some of you are enthusiastic enough to have already started tumblrs, we really are, but we'd appreciate if you save the good stuff for when we open in less than a week and you officially have a character on the Auroris! We'd hate for you to get attached to some detail of them that needs tweaking to be accepted and this way everyone is able to start at the same time.
As you may have noticed, many of the journals have undergone fairly major updates over the past week as we answer your questions. Many of you have asked things we never even considered, so thanks for helping us cover everything! When the time comes to submit, please take a minute to check the edit logs at the bottom of the journals (at least the rules and character creation ones) to make sure you're up to date.

The FAQ page has undergone a total revamp and now includes a flowchart to help you decide which faction a job falls under, and a glossary of common terms

We hope to make this OCT challenging in its storytelling, possibly in ways you won't like straight away. There will be in-world restraints placed on rounds that reflect the severity of their situation, and the possibility of many deaths is a very real one. Buckle up!
We will not accept join requests until the 27th when they must include a link to a completed app. (You may ask for an app check in the meantime.)
This OCT will have an option for splash pages in the early rounds, and then transition into purely comics (traditional, digital, animated, etc. are all fine).
